SUN 24-NOV-2019 - 11.00 AM Sermon
Rev Dr Greg Elsdon
Christ the King – Christ as a king was unlike other kings. He was not surrounded by grandeur, pomp and ceremony, and he did not assert impressive power and authority. With his life of humility, surrender and sacrifice in a world marked by greed, selfishness and partisanship, he was such a danger to society that he was brutally and publicly executed, surrounded by hate and derision. Yet he still spoke blessing and promise to another less fortunate than himself being crucified at his side. We are living in challenging times, and we need to find ways to walk as Jesus walked, listening, protecting, enduring and blessing. We have a king like no other; we are not abandoned; but God will not act if we ourselves don't act.
Luke 23: 33-43
