Asylum Seekers and Refugees When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
(Leviticus 19:33-34)
Pilgrim Circle of Friends 27 for Refugees
The Pilgrim based Circle of Friends 27 is one of over sixty groups
established to provide a variety of support for refugees and asylum seekers, both in the
community and/or in detention and operates in association with the Australian Refugee Association (ARA)
and Amnesty International.
Members of Circle 27 come mainly from the Pilgrim congregation.
Anyone who feels that refugees and asylum seekers ought to be treated with human dignity and who genuinely wants to help may become a member.
