Minister's Profile

Cyrus Kung
Pastoral Support Worker - Pilgrim and Chinese(SA)Christian Church.

Cyrus Hi, my name is Cyrus I am a 2nd Generation Chinese Australian. I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Adelaide when i was 3 years old with my family. I grew up in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide and attended Marryatville High school but now live in the Broadview area.

I came to faith while I was in high school through attending the youth program run out of C(SA)CC. I wouldn't say I grew up in the church although much of my formative years were shaped by Christian values and of course the Hong Kong - Chinese Culture.

I speak 3 languages, two of them very poorly. I like Cars, Music and Coffee. My life mainly revolves around these 3 things. But my overwhelming passion is serving Christ and his church, I love connecting with people and seeing others connect with each other and the world around them.

My Other Roles
Over the last 5 years I have completed a Bachelor of Ministry whilst serving as the the youth and young adults Pastor within the Chinese (SA)Christian Church. My role at C(SA)CC currently involves overseeing the Kids Church and the 2nd generation ministries within the church.

Connected to my role at C(SA)CC I also hold the role of Minister of Pastor at CitySoul Uniting Church where I work with young people from CALD backgrounds, providing work experiences to refugees/young people, conducting services and exploring new fresh expressions of Church.

I am also currently studying my Masters in Theology at the Adelaide College of Divinity and moving in to Candidacy to be a minister of the Word in the Uniting Church.
